I launched a bilingual awareness campaign to warn people about housing scams and help homebuyers spot them.

The Montgomery County Auditor’s Office handles property taxes and other homebuying processes across the region. While I worked for the office, we identified a pattern of Spanish-speaking residents being victimized by housing scams with delinquent taxes or demolition schedules. Because of this, I proposed a public information campaign to address the issue directly. I focused on earned media, website content, and social media. During the campaign, I also trained staff for interviews and prepared releases and statements for English and Spanish-speaking audiences. It raised awareness of the scams and gave people tools they could use to navigate the homebuying process safely.
